Most of the wood we get is from Canada. With the boarders closed due to the pandemic, lumber costs have skyrocketed. For historical reference, here are current costs. Great timing with chamber construction!
A 2x6x10 costs: $13.22 ea. A 4x8' sheet of 3/4" plywood costs: $43.28 ea. (usually $17ish) I was able to get my Dad to help with installing foam board on the chamber walls. Furring strips and drywall is next.
My daughter Ella's favorite trap at the Organ Piper is the Hi-hat. Don't know why but she always was drawn to it. For that reason, the original tap cymbal action got rebuilt somewhat out of order from where it should have been restored in...so she can push the button and watch it work. Special thanks to Zach Frame for installing new cymbals on the action after it was restored!
